Home Learning

Children are always encouraged to read at home and CIL (child initiated learning) projects can be developed, then shown at school if your child wishes.

Children can choose an area they are interested in to learn more about and plan, then do and review their own learning activity. Activities can be practical and creativity or research and writing based.

Your child can choose to meet their preferred learning styles. A combination of different learning activities can be used and the review will check that what the child set out to learn and achieve has been successful.

Please read our booklet for parents below, which explains how you can help your child with their home learning:

You may also like to read our Home Learning Policy and our Written Calculations Policy, which has been added to enable parents to see the methods we use in school, in case you would like to help your child with numeracy work at home. Both of these can be found on our Policies and Documents page.
